Almost a year has passed since screenwriting teacher and script consultant Blake Snyder died. To commemorate that sad anniversary, the Save the Cat! folks have repeated his last blog post, which reminds us to be patient with ourselves as we learn any craft.
It’s the kind of wise advice that bears rereading.

I was so shocked when I learned (months after the fact) that Blake had died–he had so much energy and enthusiasm, I thought he’d be around forever. The writing community lost one of its brightest and most supportive.

It’s always a shock when the good die that young. I didn’t get to hear Blake in person, but I’ve heard nothing but praise for him from those who did. I have the Save the Cat! books. His energy and generosity shine through them.
